Horses - A Life's Work website is dedicated to our beloved uncle Al Savitt, noted equestrian artist and illustrator (read About the Artist), and contains previews of art from his extensive collection.

From the 1930s to the 1990s Al devoted his life to the depiction of what he loved so much - horses. Al's love and admiration of horses shows itself in the many ways he captures this magnificent animal.

From the sensitive feeling between the mare and her foal, to the strength and willfulness of the wild stallion. From tireless worker to close companion, the horse is truly a noble beast.

In 2001 Al was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and was no longer capable of continuing his life's work...A loss for all of us. He passed away in 2009. Please follow this link if you would like to make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association.
